Because of the nature of our work we are incredibly thorough with our application process to ensure we are constantly safe guarding the wellbeing of the individuals we support.

Our application form contains 8 sections. You will be asked to sign-in to or create a new account - this will allow you to save your progress and return to the form at a later stage.

Walsingham Support will collect and store your data for recruitment purposes only, and will not share it with anyone else.

What you need to complete your application

To help you complete our online application form as quickly as possible, we suggest that you have the following information to hand before you start.

  • Your full home address and contact details
  • Your complete employment history, with full start and end dates of all jobs
  • Full dates for any periods your have been claiming state benefits
  • Full dates for any periods of full-time further education you have done since leaving school

Please ensure that you fill all sections of the application form in full, or add ‘none’ or N/A where appropriate. All offers of employment will be subject to receipt of references and an Enhanced Disclosure & barring Service Disclosure, which are satisfactory to Walsingham Support. Criminal Records Disclosure

Because of the nature of Walsingham Support’s work, our vacancies are exempt from the provisions of Section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 by virtue of the ROA 1974 Exceptions Order 1975. You are, therefore, required to disclose any convictions, cautions, reprimands, final warnings or any other information that are not “protected” as defined by the ROA 1974 Exceptions Order 1975 (as amended in 2013) by SI 2013 1198. All information will be treated in strictest confidence.

All applicants will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure check from the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) before the appointment is confirmed. A criminal record will not necessarily exclude an applicant from consideration for employment. This will depend on the nature of the position and the circumstances and background of your offences. A code of practice on Disclosures is available from the DBS via www.gov.uk/dbs. Walsingham Support has written policies on Recruitment & Selection and Diversity, which include statements relating to the recruitment of ex-offenders - copies of these documents are available to applicants, on request.
