Welcoming Robert to the Walsingham Support family
Walsingham Support are delighted to announce the appointment of Robert Longley-Cook as Chair Designate of our Board of Trustees. Robert will formally take over the Chair of Trustees role when our current Chair, Donna Clark, completes her tenure on 29th September 2022.
Robert is passionate about providing a voice and greater advocacy to individuals with disabilities, and he has a wealth of experience in both the commercial and third sector, where he has successfully held a number of senior leadership roles.
When asked for his vision for Walsingham Support and how he can contribute to making this a reality, Robert said:
“To build on the passion, skills and dedication of everyone in the organisation to provide outstanding outcomes for those we support and to extend this to more individuals; to ensure the organisation is strong and sustainable; and to become a more powerful advocate for those we support and for everyone with a learning disability”.
Our outgoing Chair of Trustees had this to say about Robert’s appointment:
“I and the Board of Trustees are delighted that Robert will be joining the Walsingham Support team as our next Chair. Robert’s extensive experience, passion and people centred commitment will complement the wider organisation and strengthen the leadership team. Robert has the vision and values to build on what we have achieved over the past 36 years, further develop the best possible personalised support and amplify the voices of individuals with disabilities. I look forward to working alongside Robert over the coming months to ensure the change is positive and look forward to seeing Walsingham Support continue to grow and thrive under its new leadership, with Robert as the Chair.”
